West Houston Veterinary Medical Associates is equipped to provide critical care and emergency surgery during regular office hours. Our state-or-the art equipment, exceptional diagnostic tools, and caring, compassionate veterinarians will be ready to care for your pet in their time of need.

In the event of an emergency, please call our hospital right away at (281) 493-4712 so we know that you are on your way. While we hope that you will never need us for emergency pet care, we recommend adding our phone number and address to your phone’s contact list if you ever need it in a pinch.

If your pet is experiencing an emergency outside of our normal business hours, we refer our emergency patients to one of the 24/7 emergency and specialty care hospitals below:

When to Bring in Your Pet for Urgent Care

We recommend that you call us immediately if your pet is experiencing any of the following:

  • Choking or having difficulty breathing
  • Hit by a car or suffered blunt-force trauma of any kind
  • Ingested a foreign object such as a toy, sock, or string
  • Ingested something poisonous
  • Profuse bleeding
  • Inability to move or stand
  • Unusually warm or cold
  • Having a seizure
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Excessive vomiting and/or severe diarrhea
  • Blood in stool
  • Unable to pass stool or urinate

When in doubt about your pet’s condition, call us—our team will be more than happy to answer your questions, offer advice, or set up a room so we can see your pet.

This is the ONLY place I will take my fur babies. Dr. Randy is the absolute best!! The entire staff are pet lovers and it shows in how they treat their patients. They will give you the information you need to make decisions and offer many options. They do NOT push unnecessary tests or products on you and they have great prices on the GOOD food your baby needs. They have free for life vaccinations, as well.

Absolutely fantastic "club" discount prices (and free basic vaccines) with a single one-time cheap membership price, as long as you bring your pet in for a checkup once a year. Fantastic staff, and to give you an idea of how well they think things through, the front desk is a big circle with 2 check-in stations... one on each side so you can do things while your leashed pet can't see the other leashed pet over there on the other side.
